Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (Prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon; at the knight's left foot, a figure resembling the number '7' angled toward the foot, its vertices marked with dots. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls, a dot at the intersection of the arms, and between the arms one dot closer to the center and one sun closer to the ends. Romanesque style; imagery evokes Adalbert (Saint) and the fight between good and evil/pagans. Maker: Jastrzebowski, Stanislaw (1898–1980) [inscription/attribution]. ca. 1125–1138, Poland (Kraków). Coin; diameter 12.1–12.3 mm; weight 0.36 g.
