denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138 / reign 1107–1138), allegorical imagery, equal-armed cross, spearhead (issue mark), chain mail, crosses, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragons, fight between good and evil, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight against pagans. Obverse: in beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, two quarters with two radiating balls each (smaller near center, larger with dots), and two quarters with one ball each (one dot on each). ca. 1125–1138; Kraków, Poland. Coin; diameter 12.0–12.2 mm; weight 0.42 g.
