Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obv.: In the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Rv.: In the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball. Allegories and iconography: spearhead, equal-armed cross, chain mail, crosses, jaws, knight, dragon, martyrs, fight against pagans, spear, fight between good and evil; Romanesque style. Inscription/attribution: Boleslaw III Krzywousty. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Object: coin (denarius). Diameter: 12.8–13.3 mm. Weight: 0.47 g.
