Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Romanesque medieval coin, ca. 1125–1138, Poland, Kraków. Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with spheres (one with a dot); a dot at the crossing of the arms; one sun between them. Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, jaws, knight, martyrs, dragons, dragon, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, spears. Coin (denarius), diameter 12.1–12.9 mm, weight 0.53 g.
