Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: within a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon. Reverse: within a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball (two of them with one dot). Materials: coin. Style: Romanesque; themes: martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, knights, dragons, spears. Inscription elements/marks: spearhead (issue mark). Dimensions: diameter 11.9–12.1 mm, weight 0.31 g. Kraków, Poland.
