Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: within a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: within a triple beaded border, an equal-armed (isosceles) cross topped with balls; a ball at the intersection and one between the arms. Iconography: knight, dragon, chain mail, spear/spearhead, jaws, martyrs, fight between good and evil / fight against pagans, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), Romanesque style. Coin; Poland, Kraków. Diameter c.11.1–11.9 mm; weight 0.31 g.
