Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with spheres (two of them with one dot each; other spheres possibly dotted but blurred). Between the cross arms radiate two spheres (smaller ones closer to the center, larger ones with one dot each). Iconography: spearhead, crosses, chain mail, jaws, knight, dragon, martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; Romanesque style; St. Adalbert (ca. 956–997) referenced. Ca. 1125–1138; Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 11.9–12.3 mm; weight 0.35 g.
