Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; in two quarters between its arms one ball, in the next two closer to the center one dot, further on one ball with a dot. Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, mouth, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragon, fight against pagans, fight between good and evil, spears, Adalbert (St.; ca. 956–997). Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin. Diameter 12.0–12.3 mm. Weight 0.44 g.
