Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles equal-armed cross topped with balls; between its arms one ball (one dot on each). Iconography: knight, chain mail, spear/spearhead, dragon, jaws, crosses, martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; Romanesque style. St. Adalbert referenced. Date ca. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Silver coin (denarius). Diameter 12.6–12.8 mm. Weight 0.49 g.
