Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; a ball at the intersection of the arms and one between the arms. Allegorical Christian/medieval iconography (knights, martyrs, fight against pagans, battle between good and evil); Romanesque style; references to St. Adalbert. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin. Diameter 11.6–12.1 mm. Weight 0.39 g.
