Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1107–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of a dragon turned upside down. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with spheres (one with a dot); between its arms, nearer the center one dot, nearer the ends sun symbols (two with one dot each). Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, knight, dragon, jaws, martyrs, fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; Romanesque style; reference to Saint Adalbert. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Object: coin (denarius). Diameter: 12.1–12.3 mm. Weight: 0.38 g.
