Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball. Allegorical Romanesque imagery: equal-armed cross, crosses, chain mail, spearhead (issue mark), martyrs, knight, dragons, fight between good and evil, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight against pagans, spears. Date ca. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 13.1–13.3 mm; weight 0.46 g.
