Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1125–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon; between the knight's legs possibly a dot (effacement). Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball (one of them has a dot). Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, mouth, martyrs, knight, dragons; Romanesque style; themes of knights, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; reference to Saint Adalbert. Minted in Kraków, Poland. Coin; silver; diameter 11.9–12.3 mm; weight 0.37 g.
