Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms a ball; between the arms one ball (two of them have one dot). Iconography: spearhead, equal-armed cross, chain mail, crosses, jaws, knight, dragon, martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, spears, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997). Romanesque style. Ca. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Coin (denarius). Diameter 11.9–12.2 mm. Weight 0.36 g.
