Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Romanesque style coin, ca. 1125–1138, Poland, Kraków. Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms one ball; in one quarter of the coin field, near the center of the cross, a dot. Features: allegories, equal-armed cross, crosses, chain mail, spearhead (issue mark), jaw, knight, martyrs, knights, dragons, dragon, Middle Ages, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), diameter approx. 12.1–12.3 mm, weight 0.31 g.
