Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of a dragon turned upside down. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with spheres (one of them with a dot); between its arms, one sphere (two of them with a dot). Allegorical/romanesque imagery: knights, dragon(s), fight between good and evil, martyrs, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight against pagans. Issue mark: spearhead. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Coin; diameter 13.3–13.8 mm; weight 0.48 g.
