Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland, 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with spheres (one with a dot); at the arms' intersection a sphere; between the arms one sphere (three of them dotted). Iconography: knight, chain mail, spear/spearhead, dragon, jaws, equal-armed cross, crosses, martyrs, Adalbert (Saint, ca. 956–997), fight between good and evil / fight against pagans, Romanesque style. Coin (Poland, Kraków), diameter 11.8–12.1 mm, weight 0.32 g.
