Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138/1107–1138). Obverse: within a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: within a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with spheres; a sphere at the intersection of the arms and additional spheres between the arms (some dotted). Iconography: knight, chain mail, spearhead, dragon, jaws, equal-armed cross, martyrs, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight between good and evil/fight against pagans, Romanesque style. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Coin (denarius). Diameter: 11.8–12.1 mm. Weight: 0.32 g.
