Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (Prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Obverse: in beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms a ball; between them, in three quarters, one ball (on one of them a dot), in the fourth quarter a dot; one arm intersects the other at approx. 1/3 of its length. Allegories of fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; Romanesque style; motifs include spearhead (issue mark), equal-armed cross, crosses, jaws, chain mail, knight, martyrs, dragons. Inscription/attribution: Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997) and Boleslaw III Krzywousty (1086–1138). Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 12.2–12.7 mm; weight 0.39 g. Condition: good.
