Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon; above the knight's left foot, on its outer side, a dot. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls, with a ball between its arms. Allegorical imagery (fight between good and evil, fight against pagans); motifs include spearhead (issue mark), equal-armed cross, crosses, jaws, chain mail, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragons, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997). Minted in Kraków, Poland. Coin; diameter 12.6–12.9 mm; weight 0.51 g.
