Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon (allegory: fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; depiction includes spear, chain mail, knight, dragons, mouths, martyrs, Saint Adalbert). Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles (equal-armed) cross topped with balls; a ball at the intersection of the arms and additional balls between the arms. Romanesque style. Coin (denarius), Poland, Kraków. Diameter: 11.2–11.9 mm. Weight: 0.33 g.
