Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland, ca. 1086–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon (allegory of the fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; motifs: knight, chain mail, spear, jaws, dragons, martyrs, Romanesque style; possible reference to St. Adalbert). Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, a sun. Date ca. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 12.9–13.2 mm; weight 0.32 g.
