Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (Prince of Poland, c. 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon — allegory of a knight (martyr/Adalbert), fight between good and evil/pagans; spearhead (issue mark). Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms one ball, and closer to the center between three arms two smaller balls. Romanesque style. c. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter ~12.0–12.5 mm; weight 0.50 g.
