Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; c. 1125–1138). Obverse: within a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: within a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (two with one dot each); a dot at the crossing of the arms; a sun between the arms (two with one dot each). Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragons, jaws, fight between good and evil, spear, fight against pagans, Saint Adalbert (ca. 956–997).
