Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (one dot on each); between its arms, one ball (one dot on each). Iconography: chain mail, spearhead, equal-armed cross, crosses, mouth, knight, dragons, dragon, martyrs, Romanesque style, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997). Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Medium: coin (denarius). Diameter: 13.1–13.5 mm. Weight: 0.76 g.
