Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138), c. 1125–1138. Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon; above the knight's left foot, on its outer side, a dot. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball; one arm intersects the other at approximately 1/3 of its length. Allegorical/romanesque imagery (martyrs, knight, dragons, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans); spearhead (issue mark). Material: coin. Diameter 12.3–12.6 mm; weight 0.36 g. Made in Kraków, Poland.
