Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; c. 1125–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms one ball (one dot on each). Iconography: knight, chain mail, spear/spearhead, dragon, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, crosses, mouths; allegories; martyrs; Romanesque style. Associated figure: Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997). Coin type: denarius; diameter 12.8–13.2 mm; weight 0.44 g; Poland, Kraków; c. 1125–1138.
