Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obv.: In the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon; imagery includes allegories, knights, chain mail, spear, spears, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, martyrs, Saint Adalbert (Adalbert; ca. 956–997), dragons, jaws, Romanesque style. Rv.: In the triple beaded border, an equal-armed (isosceles) cross topped with spheres (two of them with one dot each); between its arms, one sun; issue mark: spearhead. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 12.7–13.1 mm; weight 0.56 g. State of preservation: very good.
