Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1125–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls, a dot at the intersection of the arms, and two radiating balls between the arms (smaller ones closer to the center, larger ones — one with a dot). Iconography: knight, chain mail, spearhead, dragon, equal-armed cross, spears; themes of martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; Romanesque style; depiction possibly related to Saint Adalbert. Minting place/date: Poland, Kraków, ca. 1125–1138. Coin type: denarius. Diameter: 13.4–13.8 mm. Weight: 0.75 g. State of preservation: very good.
