Légende
Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Romanesque style; ca. 1125–1138, Poland, Kraków. Coin (denarius). Obverse: in beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms a ball; one arm intersects the other at approx. 1/3 of its length. Iconography: equal-armed cross, spearhead (issue mark), crosses, chain mail, mouth(s), knight(s), dragons, martyrs, Adalbert (St.; ca. 956–997), fight of good against evil, fight against pagans, spears. Diameter 11.8–12.2 mm; weight 0.34 g.
