Denarius, Plautilla (ca. 185–212; Roman empress 202–205). Obv.: PLAVTILLA AVGVSTA. Draped bust of Plautilla facing right, hair smooth and tied in a small bun at the nape of the neck, pearl rim. Rev.: VENVS, IX. Venus, stripped to the waist, stands straight, head turned left, holding an apple in her right hand and a palm in her left; the elbow of her left hand rests on a shield; at her feet Cupid facing left, pearl rim. Date: 202–205 CE, Rome, Roman Empire (27 BCE–476 CE). Coin. Diameter (obverse) 17.9 mm; diameter (reverse) 18.3 mm; weight 2.73 g.
