Denarius, Commodus (161–192; Roman emperor 177–192). Obverse: Head of Commodus in a laurel wreath facing right, inscription 'M COMM ANT P - FEL AVG B' all around. Reverse: Libertas stands frontally, head turned left; in her right hand she holds a liberation cap (pileus), in her left a staff (vindicta), inscription 'PM TR P XIII IM' all around. Date: 187–188. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Rome. Coin. Diameter 16.5 mm; weight 2.09 g; axis 180°.
