Denarius, Commodus (161–192; Roman emperor 177–192), issuer. Obverse: Head of Commodus in a laurel wreath to the right, inscription OMMODVS - ANTO, S all around. Reverse: Naked Genius standing left, holding a patera above an altar in his right hand and ears of corn in his left, inscription PM TR P VIIII, PP all around. Iconography: ears of corn, Genius, altars, personifications, paterae. Date: 183–184. Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin: diameter 16.5–17.0 mm, weight 2.37 g, axis 0°.
