Semis, Trajan (53–117; Roman emperor 98–117). Obverse: head of Trajan in a radiant crown facing right; rim inscription illegible. Reverse: letters 'SC' surrounded by an oak wreath; rim inscription illegible. Oak and laurel wreath motifs. Coin minted in Rome but sent for circulation in the East (mainly Syria); probably not minted in Antioch because it has an axis of 180° rather than 0°. Date: 112–117. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Material: coin. Weight: 3.39 g.
