Aureus depicting Faustina the Younger (ca. 130–176; Roman empress 161–176) and Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180) as issuer. Obverse: Bust of Faustina II in drapery facing right, inscription FAVSTINA·AVGVSTA. Reverse: Salus (personification) seated left, holding a patera in her right hand above an altar around which a snake coils, left hand resting on the throne, inscription SALVTI·AVGVSTAE. Date ca. 161–176, Roman Empire, Rome. Coin: diameter 17.5–19.0 mm, weight 6.90 g, axis 0°.
