Denarius, Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161), issuer. Obverse: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath facing right, inscription ONINVS AVG PI - VS PP TR P XVI, all around. Reverse: Annona (personification) stands left, holds ears of corn in her right hand, rests her left on a container (modius) standing on a ship, inscription C OS - IIII all around. Date: 153–155. Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin. Diameter 17.5–19.0 mm, weight 2.98 g, axis 180°. Iconography: Antoninus Pius, personifications, modius, ships.
