Groschen with countersignature of the City of Gdansk, 1577. Schilling, Maciej, publisher; Decjusz, Jost Ludwik (fl. 1528–1535), publisher. Minted in Gdansk in 1577 during the siege. Obverse: Prussian eagle with on its breast the crowned letter S; in the rim, between pearly borders, an inscription beginning with a trefoil ALBER*D*, *MAR*BRAN*DVX*PRVSS. Reverse: male bust in armour, profile turned to the right; short hair, long pointed beard with sideburns, dividing the inner border; in the rim, between pearly borders, an inscription beginning with the Hohenzollern shield *IVSTVS*EX*FIDE*VIVIT*I545*. Countersignature: vertical hook crossed twice with projections in two directions. Iconography: Albrecht Hohenzollern (Prince of Prussia; 1490–1568), Hohenzollern coat of arms, eagles, male busts in armour. Date: 1545 (legend). Place: Ducal Prussia (Königsberg). Coin: diameter 23.4 mm; weight 2.11 g; axis 45°. R5 (rarity).
