Double Augustor; maker: Croll, Ernest Dietrich (fl. 1753–1763); subject: August III SAS (King of Poland; Elector of Saxony; 1696–1763); type: thaler (coin), 1756. Obverse: Crowned bust of the king in right profile, with the Order of the Golden Fleece on the chest. Inscription: D:G:AUGUSTUS III.REX POLONIARUM. Reverse: Under the crown, a five-field shield surrounded by two palm branches, with the Polish, Lithuanian, and Saxon coats of arms. At the bottom: EC /10:TH. Inscription: SAC.ROM.IMP.ARCHIM. ET ELECT. Edge decorated with notches. Diameter 28.5 mm; weight 13.30 g., A round metallic coin with a golden color, showing the raised profile of a man facing right wearing a detailed crown and flowing curly hair, with ornate clothing and a draped collar. The coin edge has a ridged border and the surface shows small spots and slight wear. The visible hues are shades of gold and light yellow.
