Denarius by M. Furius Philus (fl. 119 BC). Obverse: Head of Janus in a laurel wreath; inscription M.FO .LF. Beaded border. Reverse: Roma wearing a Corinthian helmet, holding a scepter in her left hand and crowning a trophy with her right; above a star; on both sides of the trophy a carnyx and a shield; below the line the inscription PHILI (PHI in ligature). Pearl border. 119 BC; Roman Republic (505–27 BC); Rome. Coin, silver; diameter 19.6 mm; weight 3.88 g; axis 225°.
