Denarius of Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath facing right, inscription ANTONINVS AVG - PIVS PP, P XI circumferential. Reverse: Salus standing left in front of an altar, holding a patera above the altar around which a snake coils, and holding a rudder on a globe in her left hand, inscription C - OS - IIII circumferential. Bronze/metal coin, 147–148 CE, Roman Empire (27 BCE–476 CE), Rome. Diameter ~18.0–18.5 mm, weight 2.95 g, axis 180°.
