Four-sided tea bowl, Meissen (circa 1750), manufacturer possibly Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique; porcelain tea bowl with rectangular base, semicircular arched sides, circular opening and short hoop neck (lid missing). On larger walls, cartouche frames with two purple draperies suspended at the sides on small flower bouquets and dry rocaille, topped and bottomed on the axis of symmetry with brick-red draperies suspended on plant branches. Cartouches feature purple camaieu landscape miniatures with architecture and staffage: 1) a multi-span bridge with a cross and a figure on the left; 2) on a rocky outcrop, a structure resembling a three-stepped tower. Smaller walls and both sides of the neck vault bear colorful ornamental emblems with plant motifs and palmettes. Edges of the vault and the step around the neck are gilded. Dimensions: height 10.5 cm, width 7 cm, depth 4.6 cm. Makers/dates noted 1710–1763 (manufacturer active).
