Four-sided tea bowl, Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen (circa 1750), manufacturer. Tea bowl with a rectangular base, semicircular arched top, circular opening and short hoop neck (lid missing). On the larger faces are cartouche frames with two purple draperies suspended at the sides on small flower bouquets and dry rocaille, topped and bottomed on the axis of symmetry with brick-red draperies suspended on plant branches. Cartouches contain purple-camaieu landscape miniatures with architecture and staffage: (1) a multi-span bridge with a cross and a figure on the left; (2) a structure resembling a three-stepped tower on a rocky outcrop. Smaller faces and both sides of the neck vault bear polychrome ornamental emblems with plant motifs and palmettes. Edges of the vault and the step around the neck are gilded. Height 10.5 cm, width 7 cm, depth 4.6 cm.
