Black-finned kylix, Vicup type. Vicup type kylixes are characterized by a straight edge and a concave outer wall of the foot, which has a reserved surface. The lower surface of the foot is concave, decorated with a wide band of black varnish. The vessel has two handles mounted at the level of the rim. Technology: entire surface covered with an evenly distributed, glossy black varnish of good quality. Traces of turning visible under the varnish. Clay is cleaned. Comments: surface dirty, with visible chips, scratches, and abrasions. Fragment of the foot is glued on. Visible conservation additions. Clay color: 2.5 YR 6/6 (light red). Varnish color: 10 YR 2/1 (black). Ca. 480 BC (ML Bernhard dates the monument to ca. 480 BC). Attica. Vessel: kylix. Height 7.6 cm; width 20.7 cm; depth 14.2 cm; weight 0.210 kg.
