Head of a figurine of Dionysus. Head of a young man with a face devoid of [expression?], with a wide, compact mouth, a triangularly outlined face with carved cheeks, large eyes, a prominent nose and gently outlined eyebrows. On his head the youth wears a diadem decorated with rosettes on the sides and a thick wreath. Traces of red paint (cinnabar) on the hair, lips and diadem; blue on the rosettes (in the recesses). 5th–4th century BC. Taranto, Southern Italy (Italy). Terracotta figurine; height 8.7 cm, width 8.3 cm, depth 6.3 cm, weight 0.28 kg.
