Head of a figurine of Dionysus. Head of a young man with a face devoid of [expression], wide compact mouth, triangularly outlined face with carved cheeks, large eyes, prominent nose and gently outlined eyebrows. The youth wears a diadem decorated with rosettes at the sides and a thick wreath. Traces of red paint (cinnabar) on the hair, lips and diadem; blue in the rosette recesses and on the wreath. 5th–4th century BC, Taranto, Southern Italy, figurine. Height 8.7 cm, width 8.3 cm, depth 6.3 cm, weight 0.28 kg.
