Clothes pin, Northern Mesopotamian workshop, pins for fastening garments, material culture, Short pin with a straight shaft of circular cross-section. In the upper part there is a conical extension terminating in a small round head, separated by a notch. Below the head, at 1/4 length, there is a slight flattening on the shaft, which contains a hole for passing a string through. 1st half of the 3rd millennium BC; Early Jazira III period (Early Dynastic III; c. 2600–c. 2350 BC), Tell Jassa el Gharbi (northeastern Syria), Northern Mesopotamia (Khabur basin), pin (clasp). Total: length 10.76 cm; diameter 0.1 cm (minimum) — 0.4 cm (maximum); middle part: width 0.45 cm (flattened part), thickness 0.25 cm (flattened part); diameter 0.2 cm (hole).
