Subject: three cupids on a cloud — one preparing to shoot a bow, another passing a bundle of arrows to a third seated with his back turned; two kissing doves. Composition enclosed in a tondo inscribed in a square; decorative attributes of the god of Love (burning torch, bow, quiver with arrows) beneath the frame; garlands, flowers and fruit surround the frame. Accompanied originally by a poem describing the games and amusements of cupids. Etching and stipple in reddish-brown ink; print, height 33.5 cm, width 23.8 cm; dated 1773 (state with publisher’s name and address erased).
