Drachma, Hormizd IV (ruler of Persia; 579–590). Obverse: bust of Hormizd IV facing right, wearing a crown decorated with a diadem; right of the bust a star, left a star in a crescent; above the ear and as an earring a triangle composed of three dots; beads on the neck and a central triangle of three dots; pearl rim; above the crown a symbol of the cosmos; at bottom and on both sides a crescent with a star; Pahlavi inscription. Reverse: burning altar; to its left the ruler/Arsaces standing facing forward with a sword in his hand; to the right a priest standing facing forward holding a sword; top left a star, top right a crescent; signs/monograms on both sides; pearl rim; Pahlavi inscription. Dated 579–590, Persia; coin; weight 3.97 g.
