Drachma, Khosroes I Anoshirvan (ruler of Persia; 531–579). Obverse: bust of Khosroes I facing right; wearing a crown with a diadem, to the right a crescent with a star, to the left a star; short curly beard, hair tied back in a lock; beads on the neck (central one three triangular beads) and a second long chain around the neck; earring of three triangular beads; outside the rim three crescents; on the crown an incomprehensible sign like a flag waving left, above the crown outside the rim a sign like a crescent with a globe; Pahlavi inscription. Reverse: burning altar; left of altar the ruler/Arsaces stands facing forward holding a sword, right of altar a priest stands facing forward holding a sword; star at top left and crescent at top right; signs/monograms on both sides; pearl rim; Pahlavi inscription.
