Sestertius of Hadrian (76–138; Roman Emperor 117–138). Obverse: bust of Hadrian facing right in drapery; rim inscription ANVSAVG. Reverse: Hadrian in a toga stands facing right, holds a scroll in his left hand, raises his right hand to personify Spain, who stands opposite him. Spain consecrates gifts with her right hand on an altar between them, holds a branch in her left hand; a small bull stands next to the altar; inscription SC in the field; rim inscription AD. Date: 134–138. Rome, Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin; weight 25.05 g.
